Despite being overwhelming outsiders to progress past the Quarter Finals of this years Champions League, Manchester United have left themselves with a good chance of progressing after the first leg at Old Trafford last night. Despite Bayern Munich holding 74% of the possession and making 767 passes, they left the Theatre of Dreams with just the one away goal. In saying that it still forces United to be a little more adventurous in the second leg than they were last night if they are to get the goals they need to go through.
Despite all the possession Bayern contained it was United who had the best chance of the first half and who went ahead from an exquisite header from captain Nemanja Vidic. After the game Vidic said they have the pace to hurt Bayern in the second leg and make it to the semi-finals....
